  17. <p>     Scarface is a grisly, exciting gangster picture, based in part
  18. upon the career of Alphyonse ("Scarface," "Snorkey") Capone. Its
  19. vicious hero, one Tony (Paul Muni), ingeniously wins the
  20. affection of public enemy named Lovo (Osgood Perkins) by
  21. murdering his own superior. He then embarks upon a career of
  22. informal executions, becoming invaluable to Lovo and attractive
  23. to Lovo's Poppy (Karen Morley). Presently dissension occurs
  24. between Tony and Lovo. Tony wipes out Lovo and leaves Florida
  25. with Poppy.
  26. </p>
  27. <p>     When he comes back, he has trouble with his sister (Ann
  28. Dvorak). Tony suspects someone of ruining her, immediately
  29. shoots him. The police trace Tony to his lair. Instead of
  30. shooting him, they shoot his sister. Tony survives just long
  31. enough to prove himself a coward. His riddled corpse is last
  32. seen in a gutter.</p>
